Est. 1992
Over three decades of celebrating Indian heritage and building community across Southwest Florida.
Our History
The India Association of Southwest Florida was established in 1992, nearly 32 years ago, with a mission to unite the Indian diaspora in Southwest Florida. Over the years, the association has played a pivotal role in bringing the community together and shaping the lives of the children within the community.
Through numerous events and activities, we have exposed our members to Indian culture and the rich Indian heritage. The flagship event is India Fest, held every year in spring, offering an opportunity to share the vibrant Indian culture with the wider community. Several thousand people attend each year to enjoy delicious food, captivating costumes, mesmerizing dances, and a variety of merchandise from the homeland.
The association experienced a period of dormancy from 2019 to 2022. However, in 2023, a dedicated team of members came together to revive the organization. Today we are expanding our reach across Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties to serve the entire SWFL Indian community.
India Association of SWFL Inc is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, registration # 65-0541765.
Our Mission
Enriching SWFL Through Indian Heritage
Create memorable, high-quality events and shows that bring the community together through unforgettable cultural experiences.
Launch targeted youth programs including leadership workshops, volunteer opportunities, and cultural storytelling sessions for local schools.
Provide meaningful activities tailored to senior members — yoga sessions, community lunches, and discussion circles — involving elders as cultural ambassadors.
Build coalitions with other Indian organizations across SWFL for larger events, shared resources, and greater community impact.
Develop inclusive programs for non-Indian participants and partner with local businesses for sponsorships and mutual community visibility.
Increase visibility beyond Lee County to cover all of SWFL — from Port Charlotte to the broader region — through digital platforms and community outreach.
